Free Art Class

Saturday, July 13, 12pm to 3pm at the Marina Community Center, 15301 Wicks Boulevard, San Leandro

SLAA is offering a FREE art class to San Leandro residents. This one focuses on children in grades 1-5.

Create 3D Sculpture World with Construction Paper!

In this course students will have fun making paper sculptures. We will begin by talking about sculpture as a three dimensional art form, and what makes it different from two dimensional art, such as drawing and painting. Students will be making sculptures using colorful construction paper, which they will be adhering to a sturdy cardboard base. We will explore different methods of cutting paper, curling it, and folding it to make exciting 3D shapes and characters. Students will be able to glue these forms to their cardboard base to make their own interesting worlds. We will even incorporate some cut out magazine pictures. So signup and have fun making your own personal paper sculpture worlds!

The art association is providing all supplies needed for the class as well as food and beverages during the break. The class is limited to 16 participants. To RSVP email: sanleandroart.contact@gmail.com

Than you to the San Leandro Arts, Culture and Library Council for their generous grant supporting our free classes.
