Mixing Colors for Mood - Jennifer Koney

To view a recording of the demonstration, click here

Choosing your palette and mixing colors to convey mood, is a fun and satisfying practice. By connecting to your feelings and response to a place or image, you can use the powerful tool of color to enhance that mood by choosing and mixing hues and tones to support the emotions you want to capture and convey.

In this Zoom workshop, we will play with magical properties of color and practice mixing to reinforce mood. Color theory and practical tips will be covered, along with a refresher on the impacts of line and compositional elements on mood and perception. To practice color mixing with watercolors during the workshop, please provide a set of watercolors (primary colors are essential, and a few varieties of reds and blues will be helpful), watercolor paper (glued pad on at least 2 sides preferred), water, sketching pencil, and a fine point waterproof drawing marker, if you have one
