July 12, 2022 Demonstration by Peggy Milovina Meyer

Peggy Milovina Meyer has been drawing and painting as soon as she could hold a pencil.  She studied Fine Art and Biology at De Anza Community College in Cupertino and at San Jose State University.

In her work, Peggy strives to build a relationship with her subject and her goal is to bring the viewer into her world to experience the unique beauty, personality, and soul of a subject. Peggy works with colored pencil, graphite, pastels, and ink allowing her to marry detail typical of scientific illustration with intimacy, leaving the viewer feeling they somehow know and understand the subject. She is a realist, but the subject’s personality drives her work.

Peggy teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced classes in most drawing mediums such as graphite, charcoal, conte, colored pencil, and pen & ink.  Currently group classes are virtual but will be returning to in-person later this year.   She also provides instruction, coaching, and mentoring to high school students working on art and animation school application portfolios/requirements.
