Watercolor and Pastels,
Grades K-5
Have fun creating your own garden scenes of flowers, insects and whatever your imagination wants to bring to your garden. Use oil pastels to draw your garden scene and use one watercolor color to complete Part 1 of a diptych (pronounced dip-tic) and another color to complete Part 2 of the diptych. A diptych is artwork that consists of two separate pieces that together create a single art piece. Did I say only one color at a time? Yes, only one, but there are so many versions of one color that you will learn to make. Your diptych creations will be exhibited with the creations of your fellow workshop friends in a beautiful rainbow presentation. You will, of course, be able to take your own diptych home.
